STUDENTS at Queen Mary University have occupied a lecture theatre at the Mile End campus in protest at the situation in Gaza.

They are demanding that the university offers ten scholarships to Gazans and to condemn the BBC's refusal to run a fund-raising appeal for Gaza.

Twenty to thirty students are staying in the lecture theatre off Mile End Road overnight with more occupying the theatre during the day.
