Dear Editor,

MAYOR of London Boris Johnson will be supported by public resources in finding out about his family history as the subject of the BBC's Who do you think you are? programme.

Hopefully, he will make the connection with the situation of Londoners who also want to find out about their ancestors.

Hopefully, he will see fit to use the position that Londoners have granted him through the ballot box in May to support the preservation of the Bancroft Archives in its current historic site (Mile End old vestry hall), so that people whose families are or have been connected with the East End of London can use it for a similar purpose.
