MORE trees should be planted in the streets of London, according to a survey by environmentalists.
An overwhelming 98 per cent responding to a survey by the Trees for Cities charity wants more leafy avenues planted, it claims.
The survey involving 672 people follows Mayor Boris Johnson's announcement that two million trees need to be planted to combat rising temperatures.
The charity, which is aiming to plant 10,000 in 'priority' streets including East London in the run-up to the 2012 Olympics, is campaigning to raise funds to plant more street trees.
