MORE trees should be planted in the streets of London, according to a survey by environmentalists.

The Trees for Cities charity claims an overwhelming 98 per cent responding to their survey wants to see more planted.

The independent survey involving 672 people follows Mayor Boris Johnson’s announcement that two million trees need to be planted to combat rising temperatures.

The charity, which is aiming to plant 10,000 in priority’ streets by 2012, is campaigning to get Londoners to help raise funds to plant more street trees.
