A lorry driver has been arrested after a cyclist died in a collision in Stepney.
The cyclist, who was believed to be in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics who attended the incident in Commercial Road at around 8.20am this morning (Thursday).
The male lorry driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody.
Commercial Road has since been reopened after being closed for several hours near the junction with Arbour Square this morning while the air ambulance, paramedics and police attended the scene of the incident.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision do contact the Road Death Investigation Unit on 0208 597 4874.
