This was the loving scene above the Thames on Valentine’s night that was nearly blown off course by the gales.
Organisers of the four-minute fireworks spectacle at Canary Wharf almost got the wind up.
“It was touch and go whether the show could go ahead,” said Jon Culverhouse, who runs Fantastic Fireworks which laid on the display.
“But we managed to send up 1,000 heart-shaped fireworks to light up the sky.
“It brought some cheer to an otherwise miserable and windy Valentine’s Day.”
