FIREFIGHTER Luke Partidge carried out his first rescue with a ladder in London’s East End after a midnight 999 call from a distressed woman.

He arrived at a terraced house—to find a cat trapped on a first-floor ledge early this-morning (Friday).

The white she-cat named Lucky’ appeared to have run out of luck and couldn’t make its way back inside the house in Hackney Wick.

Luke, who had just transferred to Bethnal Green fire-station this week from his previous posting in north London, managed to coax Lucky towards him and carried it down the ladder to safety after just 15 minutes—to the waiting arms of its grateful owner.
