A man is in hospital fighting for his life after a fight outside Bethnal Green Tube station during the night. An ambulance crew called police to an incident in Cambridge Heath Road at around 1am today.
Two men were involved a fight, Scotland Yard confirmed. One man believed to be 35 years old was rushed to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel with “serious head injuries” where he remains in critical condition.
Cambridge Heath Road was shut between Bethnal Green Road and Three Colts Lane which affected buses 106, 254 and N253 which had to be diverted.
Traffic was diverted this-morning down Roman Road while officers investigated the scene. Bethnal Green station was closed. Police are appealing for any witnesses who were in Cambridge Heath Road between 1am and 1.30am to contact them on 101.
