A man has been jailed for killing his older brother by strangling him and leaving his body undiscovered for a week at the family home in London’s East End.
Juhel Ahmed, 30, was found guilty of murdering 36-year-old Ruhel Ahmed at their flat in Stepney’s Timor House in Duckett Street.
He was jailed for life yesterday at the Old Bailey and ordered to serve a minimum of 12 years after being found guilty at his trial on Friday.
Ruhel’s body was discovered in the bedroom when police and paramedics were called to the flat at 7.15pm on September 3. He had been lying in the bedroom for at least a week, murdered sometime around August 28, it is believed.
A post-mortem examination at Poplar Mortuary on September 5 gave cause of death as compression to the neck.

The brothers had been involved in disputes over the years and had argued over Juhel’s damaged pot plants just before the murder, the court heard.
