POLICE are appealing for witnesses to Sunday's shooting near the Limehouse Links tunnel in London's East End.
Police were called at 3.45am after a man was shot at least six times outside Red nightclub in Cable Street, Shadwell.
The man was later identified by Scotland yard as 35-year-old Curtis Smith, from west London.
A post mortem yesterday gave cause of death as gunshot wounds to the head and neck.
An incident room has opened under detectives from Trident, which investigates gun crime among young black people.
"We believe he the man was at Club Red in Cable Street with friends," said a Scotland Yard spokesman.
"The shooting is believed to have occurred outside the club.
"We are appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened or has information to call us."
A man is currently in custody following the shooting, said police. The man, in his 20s, walked into a police station in south London last night (Sunday) at about 7pm and was arrested in connection
