Man trapped in hit-and-run car smash
POLICE are looking for a motorist who left the scene of a car smash in which a driver was trapped in East London in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday). Emergency fire crews had to use hydraulic cutting gear to reach the trapped driver in the wrecked car at St Paul’s Way in Mile End at 12.15am
POLICE are looking for a motorist who left the scene of a car smash in which a driver was trapped in East London in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
Emergency fire crews had to use hydraulic cutting gear to reach the trapped driver in the wrecked car at St Paul’s Way in Mile End, at the traffic lights with Burdett Road, at 12.15am.
They had to cut away the roof off to rescue the 32-year-old who had neck injuries and was trapped by his legs.
But rescuers managed to get him out on a spinal board after just 15 minutes. He was treated by paramedics and the scene before being taken by ambulance to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, where he has been detained.

Police are appealing for witnesses who were in St Paul’s way at 12.15am who saw the c rash near the Texaco petrol station.
