A man has died in the cabin of a crane —120 feet up in the air.
Firefighters had been working to reach the man trapped inside the crane on a construction site on Vernon Road in Bow this morning. But the man was found dead at the scene by medics, who reached the man with the help of the London Fire Brigade.
A spokeswoman for London Ambulance said: “We were called after 8.30am to reports of a person who had collapsed in a tower crane.
“We sent one ambulance crew, our hazard area response team and a duty officer. But members of our hazard area response team sadly found him dead at the scene.”
Around 20 firefighters were at the scene along with a specialist fire rescue team.
The coroners will now establish the cause of the death which police is also looking into.
