Takeaway fans received a special delivery on Tuesday when their curries were run straight to their doors, courtesy of “Marathon Mo”.
Curry house worker Mo Al-Haque is set to run the London Marathon in April, and has been running the streets of Bethnal Green to raise cash for international development charity VSO.
Speaking before making the deliveries, the 28-year-old said: “If it’s a busy night, I could easily cover over 20 miles, so my training will get a boost as well as my fundraising.
“The curries will still arrive by car so they stay nice and hot and I’ll leg it after them to collect the money - no-one wants a chilly chicken Madras!”
Supporters can sponsor Mo, who is a waiter at Al-Amin restaurant in Cambridge Heath Road, at www.justgiving.com/mohibul-haque1.
