Orient forward, on loan from Millwall, has scored against the Yellows numerous times in the past
Oxford United make the trip to Brisbane Road this weekend and one Leyton Orient player in particular is relishing going up against them.
John Marquis made his debut for the O’s at Crawley Town on Saturday and impressed in his 45-minute cameo.
He hopes that will aid his chances of starting tomorrow (Saturday) and if he does, the Yellows and their fans will know what to expect.
The 23-year-old scored against Oxford last season for Cheltenham Town and in the 2013/14 campaign found the net against them for Portsmouth and Northampton Town respectively.

It is fair to say the Millwall man enjoys playing against Oxford, he said: “I scored against them for Cheltenham and the season before for Portsmouth so I have done alright against them so hopefully that can continue.
“It is just one of those things. I had actually forgotten I did it last year, but I knew I had scored against Oxford for Portsmouth.

“It is not something you think about, but when somebody reminds you it triggers the memory. It would be nice to score against anyone, but hopefully I can open my account at the weekend.
“I have come here to play games, but it is not a given that anyone will walk into a team so I have to earn the right. I feel like I did what I could on Saturday in tough circumstances, 3-1 down with 10 men, but I got an assist.
“I don’t think I did my chances any harm. I have just been keeping my head down and working hard in training this week, trying to give the manager food for thought.”
Marquis is set to make his home debut for Orient tomorrow, but he is familiar with Brisbane Road. He witnessed the atmosphere the O’s supporters created whilst on loan at Gillingham last season.
Now the Millwall ace will be roared on by those fans and he is confident Orient can reward them with three points.
“I was on the bench last season for Gillingham so I know it is a good atmosphere at Brisbane Road and I am looking forward to making my home debut and cracking on with the rest of the loan spell,” added Marquis.
“Every game is going to be tough in this league in one way or another and it is all about applying yourselves correctly. We have come off the back of a defeat where we feel like we should have beaten Crawley.
“Obviously that didn’t happen and now we have got a tough test in Oxford this weekend and some other difficult ones coming up, but we know what we have in our changing room.
“We all believe in each other and it doesn’t matter if we are playing Oxford or top of the league we are going to go out and believe we can win, especially at home. We are going to take the game to them at the weekend and try to take the three points.”
