THE magnificent view from the Isle of Dogs of a warship passing the O2 Millennium Dome is HMS Shoreham heading up the Thames on Monday morning.
Britain's latest single role minesweeper is on a three-day visit to London, moored alongside HMS President naval HQ at Tower Bridge.
The Shoreham, one of the most sophisticated 'mine hunters' in the world, is helping with an Armed Forces Parliamentary reception taking part in the ceremonial sunset event with the First Sea Lord.
It is one of a squad of six Sandown class minesweeping 'counter measure' vessels based on the Clyde which weighs anchor on Thursday at the end of its London visit.
