MP HOPEFULS will face a grilling tonight as campaigners demand answers over the future of education in Tower Hamlets.

Teachers and students will be putting their questions to a panel of prospective parliamentary candidates in the East London Mosque in Whitechapel from 7pm.

Campaigners including members of the University and College Union have organised the Question Time event at the East London Mosque in Whitechapel to hear what the future could hold for education in the borough, including its adult classes.

And it comes after nearly a third of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes in the borough were slashed last year.

The line-up includes Tory councillor Tim Archer, Respect's Abjol Miah, Leader of the Lib Dems Stephanie Eaton, Green parliamentary candidate Farid Bakht and ESOL Researcher at King's College, Melanie Cooke.

Labour's prospective parliamentary candidate for Bethnal Green and Bow Rushanari Ali was invited but is unable to attend.
