The Post Office’s role as a community hub was praised by MP for Poplar and Limehouse Jim Fitzpatrick at an event in Westminster this week.
In November it was announced that Post Offices – including those in the East End – would continue to provide services for motorists through its contract with the DVLA.
“The Post Office is a vital part to communities in Tower Hamlets and has long provided a platform for essential and every day services”, said Mr Fitzpatrick.
“I am dedicated to ensuring local residents can easily access services like cash points and other vital services. This is another step forward.”
There are eight Post Offices across the borough of Tower Hamlets.
