The MP for Bethnal Green and Bow helped celebrate Carers Week during a visit to a centre providing advice and support to carers.
Rushanara Ali visited the Carers Centre at Brayford Square in Stepney last week to meet staff and find out about the services the centre provides for residents.
Ms Ali said: “It is important to remember that many of the six million carers in the UK are unpaid volunteers, who give up their time to care for others.
“I would like to pay tribute to those carers, who sacrifice so much of their time and effort for other people, and who deserve recognition and credit for their work.”
