GOVERNMENT Minister Jim Fitzpatrick takes a break from the fun and games’ of Westminster visiting East London’s famous Toyhouse Library.

He looked in at the lending library at St Paul's Way in Limehouse, in his Poplar & Canning Town constituency, to learn more about the charity and its mission helping families in deprived neighbourhoods.

“This is so much more than just a toy library,” he said after the visit. “The Toyhouse shows the importance of play in learning and development, working with parents.”

The Toyhouse charity was set up 35 years ago for East End kids from poor backgrounds. It gets backing from Tower Hamlets council, working closely with the authority’s own children’s centres.

Now the MP, pictured with deputy manager Julie Morgan (above), is planning more visits to the Toyhouse from time to time, anything to get away from the tough party politics in Parliament!
