Murder probe after woman, 100, found stabbed to death

A MURDER enquiry has been launched after the fatal stabbing of a 100-year-old woman in East London this morning. Police were called at 9.45am to an address at Hainton Close off Commercial Road in Whitechapel where the woman was found with a stab wound to the neck

A MURDER enquiry has been launched after the fatal stabbing of a 100-year-old woman in East London this morning.

Police were called at 9.45am to an address at Hainton Close off Commercial Road in Stepney where the woman was found with a stab wound to the neck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next of kin have been informed, while police are waiting formal identification. A post mortem is due to take place.

A 61-year-old man has been arrested and is currently in custody, Scotland Yard has just confirmed.
