A MAN and a woman suspected of murdering 83-year-old Ferozur Rahman have been released on police bail, Scotland Yard said today (Thursday).

A 27-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were arrested in Whitechapel on suspicion of murder late Tuesday night.

After being quizzed by police, they were released today and have to answer bail next month.

Police previously released on bail two other men, aged 39 and 25, who were also arrested on suspicion of murder. Both men live outside London.

Detectives are refusing to confirm whether any of the suspects are part of Mr Rahman's large extended family.

The widowed grandfather died of fatal head injuries on Saturday night, more than 24 hours after he was found bleeding to death at his home in Whitechapel's famous Toynbee Hall settlement, near Brick Lane.

A 35-strong murder squad team is working furiously to find the killers.
