A woman found murdered in her flat in London’s East End has been named by police today as 60-year-old Judith Nibbs.

Officers were called by the Ambulance Service to a flat at Charles Square in Hoxton where they found her body at 5am on Friday.

A post-mortem examination is being carried out at Poplar Mortuary tomorrow. No formal identification has taken place, but detectives say they knew who she was and have told the next of kin.

A 67-year-old man was taken by ambulance to hospital from the address where he was said to be in a critical condition.

Police investigations continue, but there have been no arrests, Scotland Yard has confirmed today. They are not looking for anyone else in the inquiry.
