A MYSTERY Euro Millions’ lottery winner from London’s East End has finally come forward to claim their 286,500 prize after six months, with just days to spare, following an appeal on the East London Advertiser website.
Just six days remained for the ticket bought in Tower Hamlets last July could be redeemed, when National Lottery appealed on Friday night through the Advertiser. The ticket holder finally turned up at the weekend.
“We’re delighted the winner has now come forward,” said a Lottery spokesman. “We hope they’ll enjoy their win.
“It would have been awful if the they had missed out on all this money.”
If the winner hadn’t turned up at the weekend, the money would have gone to the Good Causes’ fund next Friday, adding to the 23 billion already raised since the National Lottery began in 1994.
