Pupils from the Twelvetrees Crescent secondary will benefit from the Greenhouse Sports Basketball programme along with four schools in neighbouring boroughs, thanks to a substantial grant from BT Sport’s The Supporters Club.

Arsenal Ladies and England footballer Rachel Yankey and former basketball star Allison Feaster also took part in the special session for the 40 lucky youngsters yesterday afternoon.

BT Sport’s The Supporters Club have teamed up with The National Basketball Association, who will provide basketball coaching materials and basketball training clinics to the new recruits.

Greenhouse Sports Basketball has been running for eight years and aims to use the sport to encourage the development of life skills that will be invaluable to young people from some of London’s most deprived areas.
