A company has raised nearly £10,000 for the family of Michaela Boor, 29, who tragically died after being hit by bricks dropped from a crane in Mile End.
Maytrix Construction, the employer of Michaela’s father, Matthew Boor, set up the fundraising page after his colleagues asked the company to raise money “to help him and his family at this difficult time”.
Michaela was rushed to hospital on March 27 after the accident. She died in hospital two days later.
Maytrix Construction’s director, Claire Thomas, said: “The guys that were working with Matthew wanted to have the page set up.
“We’re a family-run business and we all look after each other.”
The company, who have donated £500 themselves, has set a target of raising £20,000.
Donations have been made by 402 people.
“As an engineer I understand how such terrible things happen - and how easily they can be prevented,” said an anonymous donor.
