NEIGHBOURS have pledged to continue their fight against plans to extend an East End school after developers were given the green light last night.
Sir John Cass Foundation & Redcoat secondary in Stepney was given permission by Tower Hamlets council's Development Committee to build a two-storey extension onto the front of its building and a five-storey classroom around the side in Walter Terrace.
But residents living in Walter Terrace who signed a petition against the proposals, say the extension will overlook their homes and cause more traffic on their narrow road.
Rita Agius said: "We are not objecting to them building an extension but we just don't want this right in front of our homes. We are determined to fight this."
Planning officers ruled the development which is part of Tower Hamlets council's Building Schools for the Future programme would not impact on residents and affect their privacy.
