FAMILIES are holding a 'peoples festival' on their estate in London's East End to celebrate the new all-sports pitch that's been laid out for the kids in the neighbourhood.
The new pitch and green space is part of the redevelopment of Shadwell's Berner Estate in Christian Street, just off the Commercial Road.
The fun day is also a chance for tenants to find out more about the plans for the area, while the kids get on with the serious business of entertainments including face painting, henna painting, games, poetry readings, singing, and drama performances.
Tower Hamlets council officially opens the pitch at 3pm.
