MP Rushanara Ali has criticised Government plans to cut health care budgets and the effect they would have in London’s East End.
“We are concerned about the plans to reorganise the NHS,” she told the Bangladeshi Mental Health Forum. “We oppose the cuts being forced on local health providers, especially in areas like mental health which is such an important service in Tower Hamlets.”
The Bethnal Green & Bow MP was addressing the forum last week in its campaign to make services more appropriate and culturally sensitive to the Bengali community.
