NHS revamp costing 4m in Tower Hamlets for redundancy and rehiring, MP claims
Reorganising the NHS in London’s deprived East End is costing nearly 4 million so far in redundancy payouts in Tower Hamlets alone.
But many staff being paid off are having to be rehired elsewhere in the health service, claims MP Jim Fitzpatrick.
“This is only the first wave of redundancies,” said the Poplar & Limehouse MP. “More are expected later as part of the reckless Government reorganisation that will cost 19 million in east London.
“The public will want to know why our local NHS has been forced to waste nearly 4m so far, with many of the same staff having to be re-employed in the new NHS organisations.
“Pushing ahead with a re-organisation no-one wants means back-office waste and front-line cuts.”
