THERE was no time for a coffee break when volunteers from Starbucks joined park rangers to put the finishing touches to their new base in London's East End.
The coffee bar workers created shrub beds in Bethnal Green Gardens (pictured), planted 2,000 spring bulbs, put up trellises and painted the rail in front of the ranger station.
It was all part of the company's 'volunteer day' when they helped Tower Hamlets council's parkland 'community improvement' programme.
The programme involves making more green areas, creating play spaces, developing wooded area to encourage greater wildlife diversity and improving lighting and benches.
