Dear Editor,

MY FRIEND and I went to the Bancroft history library and found it very useful.

Tower Hamlets Council has absolutely no respect for our heritage (Advertiser, June 12). It has allowed the library to fall into disrepair.

The library needs to be kept in one place. It would be lovely if it could be given the whole of the first floor of the Bancroft, not just a part of it.

Perhaps the Wiener Library could have the ground floor? It is a beautiful building and should not be sold off. That would be very short sighted indeed.
