Youngster ruled out until end of April with fractured scaphoid
Leyton Orient goalkeeper Charlie Grainger is set to undergo surgery on a fractured scaphoid in his left hand tomorrow (Friday).
The 19-year-old has been struggling with the injury for some weeks and will now be out for the foreseeable future.
He has made four appearances for the O’s this season – all under previous head coach Ian Hendon.
Grainger’s last featured for the east Londoners in the goalless draw with Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup on December 5.
It remains his only clean sheet for Orient, but his absence should result in player-manager Kevin Nolan bringing another goalkeeper in.
They make the trip to Oxford United this weekend for another crucial fixture in League Two.
First choice Alex Cisak is fit for the clash, but Nolan is set to sign somebody with more experience to be on the bench with Grainger likely to be out until the end of April.
