Leyton Orient forward Jay Simpson is looking forward to facing Plymouth Argyle tonight and has thanked the fans for backing the team at the weekend.
The former Arsenal youngster bagged a brace on Saturday to inspire a 3-2 victory against local rivals Dagenham & Redbridge.
It means the O’s are only two points off the League Two play-off places, but face a stern test against the Green Army this evening.
Another triumph would be a welcome boost after a chaotic past seven days for the Brisbane Road club where Kevin Nolan had his managerial duties taken off him while goalkeeper coach Lee Harrison left last Wednesday.

Simpson said: “After winning on Saturday, everyone is looking forward to playing Plymouth. If we didn’t win against Dagenham everything would have been built up surrounding what is going on.
“But I’m glad we could give the fans something to cheer about. It is nice to have them behind us as well because I know they are really frustrated. I know the fans all love the club.

“Some of the decisions they might not agree with, but it’s nice to give them something to cheer about and to know they are still behind us.”
More goals from Simpson this evening will have the Orient supporters chanting his name at Brisbane Road.
He netted in the previous encounter at Home Park and is looking to get on the scoresheet again.
The 27-year-old believes Argyle, who sit fifth having been top in November, have endured a similar campaign to the O’s.
“It will be a tough game against Plymouth, they were flying high before and they’ve had a bit of a wobble,” added Simpson. “That is a little bit similar to ourselves, but on Saturday we were able to put everything behind us.
“We want to try and move on now and look ahead to the last four games of the season. Hopefully we can win them all.
“Obviously I want to score every game, I hadn’t for a while so delighted to get two on Saturday and hopefully I can get another against Plymouth.”
