ARTISTS Gilbert and George have revealed they have been collecting East London Advertiser news bills for years.
The bills, attached to boards outside newsagents, bear the week’s headlines, letting readers know the top stories in the paper.
The pair, who live in Fournier Street, Spitalfields, showed their collection, which also features bills from the Advertiser’s sister paper the Hackney Gazette, on Tuesday’s edition of BBC2’s analysis programme Newsnight.
