THE OLDEST surviving German church in England provides the atmospheric setting for a Christmas concert.
The London Gallery Quire will be performing church music from the Georgian period at the concert at St George's Lutheran Church at Alie Street in Whitechapel on Wednesday at 7pm. Tickets cost �5 on the door.
The church was built in 1762 and served the German immigrant population in the East End who worked in sugar refineries and the meat and baking trades.
