EAST Enders will be inspired by the feats of athletes that achieve against the odds, as a new Olympic Hero exhibition is unveiled this month.

Created by Tower Hamlets Council, the exhibition launches in Idea Store Canary Wharf and will travel around the borough ahead of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Featuring eleven Olympic and Paralympic athletes, the exhibition includes large-scale photographs of the athletes in action along with their remarkable stories. Residents will recognise some the exhibition’s stars, such as Jesse Owens, but many will be unknown faces with unique histories.

The exhibition launches at Idea Store Canary Wharf, Churchill Place and will remain there throughout September.
