House prices in the East End have rocketed since London won the race to host the Olympics, according to new figures. With just two years until the games begin, Lloyds TSB released a report showing the boom in prices in Tower Hamlets and other boroughs.

With just two years until the games begin, Lloyds TSB released a report showing the boom in prices in Tower Hamlets and other boroughs.

In 2005, the average property price in Bethnal Green was �234,690 - now it's �317,888.

This 35 per cent increase is mirrored in Bow - where average prices have leapt up from �222,269 to �292,805, an increase of 32 per cent.
