The massive construction site in East London between Stratford and Hackney Wick is to be part of Open House London, the largest architectural showcase in Britain, the Olympics authority announced today.
The authority wants to break last year’s record number of visitors. People from all over London are being invited to join a bus tour of the Olympic Park on September 19 or 20 to view the latest progress, adding to the 30,000 who have already been around the site since the project began.
It is aiming for tours for 4,000 people, compared with 3,000 last year and 2,000 the year before, but no children under 8 for “health and safety” reasons as it is a live construction site.
Bus tours run between 8.30am and 6.15pm on both days. A bookings hotline’ opens today (August 11) on 030-0201 2550.
