MAYORAL hopeful Oona King unveiled her strategy to tackle knife crime, at a press conference at City Hall.

Ms King, the former MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, is standing against former mayor Ken Livingstone, for the Labour Party nomination.

And she believes tackling knife crime is a key component of her election strategy.

Ms King said: "This is about making the streets safer for young people and for everyone else.

"Knife crime is something that affects everyone."

Campaigners as well as those with direct experience of knife crime turned out for Ms King's speech.
