THERE'S a chance to mess about on the river this coming weekend and learn more about the history of the River Thames at Wapping.
Visitors can look around river craft at Hermitage Wharf off
Wapping High Street as well as watch films about the river's past and listen to oral histories from people who used to work on the river.
When the tide goes out the river's foreshore is exposed revealing some of the history of the river dating from prehistory to the Blitz and the Thames Discovery programme aims to introduce people to the finds hidden in the river
The open weekend runs from 11am to 4pm on Saturday March 20 and Sunday March 21 and is organized by the charity Hermitage River Projects.
