Our Heba project to end women's isolation needs cash to survive

PUBLISHED: 08:39 20 June 2011

Dear Ed... Heba women's training and enterprise project in Brick Lane, which gives isolated women a way into the community through job training and language lessons, is struggling to stay open.

The Advertiser covered our sponsored walk last year to highlight the project when we raised more than £4,000.

But a year later, we are still struggling, but still here! Our founder and director, Kay Jordan, died at Christmas and every month our continued survival without her expertise and guidance seems like a miracle.

This year, all the women who use Heba are much more aware of our financial plight, so we held another sponsored walk on Sunday to Buckingham Palace. Anyone who wants to show support can contact us by phone or email.
