Brisbane Road boss is certain Paul Tisdale’s Grecians will provide a tough test at St James Park

Leyton Orient head coach Ian Hendon expects a difficult game against Exeter City tomorrow (Saturday), but hopes his players can make it six wins from six in League Two.

The Brisbane Road outfit currently sit top of the standing with a 100 per cent record and that has helped the 43-year-old claim the Sky Bet manager of the month away for the division.

O’s talisman Dean Cox won the player of the month award too and both will hope they can continue their form at St James Park this weekend.

Exeter are 13th in the table with seven points from five matches, but Hendon is preparing for a tough game.

He said: “I don’t think anyone would have expected us to win five games in a row. I have a good squad of players. It is up to them now if they want to take it on and win another five.

“The expectation is that we are going to Exeter to go and win. It is not going to be easy, but we are on a roll and it is my job to try and keep that going.

“Can we go to Exeter and win? Of course we can, but it will be a difficult game. We will give our best and hopefully come away with something.”

Although pressure is expected to be on Orient to keep up their brilliant start, Hendon doesn’t want the players to feel that.

He is happy to burden the so-called pressure on Saturday and see his side do well again on their travels.

They have already registered victories at Dagenham & Redbridge and Newport County and will hope to add another this weekend.

Hendon added: “Hopefully there is no pressure on the players to win at Exeter. I will burden that pressure and take that on board.

“Let’s allow the players to play. They are enjoying their football and you can see that the way we are playing. We are creating chances and they all have a smile on their face.

“Yes it is disappointing to lose at Luton on Tuesday night in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, but we move on from this quickly and focus on Exeter.

“They are a good footballing side. They have made a couple of signings this week so we will check them out and go from there, but we will be ready on Saturday.”
