Orient expecting to face ‘organised’ Wycombe outfit

Big clash takes place in E10 between League Two leaders and promotion chasing Chairboys
Leyton Orient boss Ian Hendon knows what to expect from Wycombe Wanderers when they visit Brisbane Road tomorrow (Saturday).
The Chairboys were seconds away from securing a place in League One last season, but eventually lost the play-off final 7-6 on penalties to Southend United.
But Gareth Ainsworth side have regrouped well and prior to losing at home to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, they had begun their league campaign unbeaten.
The O’s have made an even more impressive start since suffering relegation from League One and are top with 16 points from seven games.

Hendon’s side face a stern examination of their title credentials this weekend, however, but they know what to expect.
“Wycombe lost on Saturday at home to Plymouth 2-1, but they are all tough games as we found against Cambridge United,” said Orient’s head coach.

“I think Wycombe will be challenging for promotion come the end of the season. It is going to be a tough game this weekend.
“We have got Lee Harrison in our changing room and he worked with Gareth and was goalkeeper coach with Wycombe. Lee said they are well drilled, organised and they don’t concede many goals. They let in two against Plymouth, but we know every game is going to be tough.”
The Brisbane Road outfit have started the campaign better than most expected and although they haven’t won in September yet, this weekend will be the first match they’ve played at home this month.
Orient’s record in E10 is excellent with nine points obtained, seven goals scored and none conceded in the three fixtures they have played in front of their supporters.
But Hendon was quick to warn that they won’t take anything for granted against Wycombe, adding: “I said to the boys after the Cambridge match that we have had a great start.
“If somebody had said to us we would have 16 points from seven games we would have taken it. We got five wins out of five and it was great, but we want to get back to winning ways now.
“We talk about our home form. I am not taking anything for granted against Wycombe, but at Brisbane Road is where we need to be winning games.”
Orient’s chances of beating the Chairboys would be greater if talisman Dean Cox, Sky Bet’s League Two player of the month for August, is available.
He has been nursing an injury in recent weeks and remained on the bench for last weekend’s clash at Cambridge, but after resuming training on Tuesday is expected to take his place in the starting team again for the visit of Wycombe.
Hendon added: “I hope Dean is fit for this weekend. We want all the players fit and ‘Coxy’ is one of them that we want in our squad.
“We are just taking it easy with him. We don’t want to lose him for six or seven games when we can rest him maybe for one or two and then he is back with us.”
