Moses Odubajo believes the Brisbane Road faithful will take to Calaum Jahraldo-Martin
Former Leyton Orient favourite Moses Odubajo told Hull City team mate Calaum Jahraldo-Martin that the Brisbane Road supporters will love the Antigua and Barbuda international during his time in E10.
The 22-year-old joined the O’s on an initial one-month loan at the start of January and made his debut at Stevenage.
He didn’t get too much time to show his ability there, but was introduced at half time on Saturday against Exeter City.
While Orient suffered a 3-1 loss to the Grecians, Jahraldo-Martin impressed and played a key role in winning two penalties for his side.
Although League Two is known for its robust style, that doesn’t faze the attacker one bit and he revealed the advice he got from Tigers boss Steve Bruce before making his loan switch.
“I am used to the physicality because I train with the first team at Hull and have been an international so it doesn’t really bother me,” said Jahraldo-Martin, after Saturday’s match.
“Steve Bruce told me to express myself and enjoy my football at Leyton Orient - that was it really.
“I had a word with Moses. He told me it was a good club, to go enjoy yourself and show what you can do and I am sure the fans will love you.”
While Jahraldo-Martin hasn’t had enough time to make the O’s fans love him yet, he is looking forward to the rest of his loan at Brisbane Road.
The result at the weekend wasn’t what the club wanted, but the Hull City man was impressed with the football they played in the second half.
He believes Orient can mix their game up and believes it will help them achieve success in the future.
Jahraldo-Martin added: “At this level it is not much playing football, it is more of a physical battle, but you can see when we do get the chance to get it down – we do play nice football.
“I think second half we played a lot of decent stuff and that is what we can do in this division. It is not just hitting it long, we can play short and mix it up.”
The Hull man will hope to get another opportunity to show what he can do at Wycombe Wanderers this weekend.
