How much does it cost to watch football at Brisbane Road

Leyton Orient are currently seventh in the League Two table and results on the pitch aren’t the only place where they are beating their rivals after the BBC’s annual Price of Football findings were announced.

Although the cheapest ticket at Brisbane Road (£22) is the highest in the league and the most expensive (£24) six per cent above average, elsewhere they do a good job.

The O’s have the cheapest season ticket in the division at £180 and their most expensive season ticket (£315) is 19 per cent below the average for the league.

By comparison, the cheapest season ticket at Mansfield Town is £330, which is the highest in the fourth tier of English football.

While last season was a struggle for the east Londoners and resulted in relegation from League One, Orient fans seemingly got value for money last year in terms of goals with each strike costing £7.33.

In comparison, the fans from the other teams to drop down a division - Yeovil Town, Notts County and Crawley Town – all paid over £10 for each goal they witnessed.

Away from the turnstiles, the O’s supporters do have to spend seven per cent above the league average for a new adult club shirt, which costs £44. For child, Orient fans need to pay £36, which is 12 per cent above the league average too.

Newport offer the cheapest home shirt in the league at £37.50 while Barnet’s would set you back a pricey £49.90.

The cost of a match day programme at Brisbane Road is £3 – with the average £2.98 – and you need £2.50 for a pie, which is 38p cheaper than the average.

But if you fancy a cup of tea at Orient you will have to spend £1.80 and that’s 19p less than the average in League Two.
