Our guide to how the O’s performed against Sheffield United

Gary Woods (7) – Looked solid after slow start when an unfortunate one got past him. Great positioning and distribution to keep the game flowing, made saves when needed.

Scott Cuthbert (N/A) - Disappointing night as was forced off due to injury in the 12th minute.

Mathieu Baudry (6) - Average night for the centre-back. Won majority of battles in the air but was slow at moving the ball forward. Booked for a bad challenge.

Nathan Clarke (6) - Seemed a bit too eager with his challenges and when pressing the opposition. Struggled to move the ball forwards but outworked opposition front men to win most of his battles.

Elliot Omozusi (6) - Battling performance from the left-back. Even when struggling he made sure to win the ball back. A couple of threatening attacks and found some gaps to run into. A great shooting effort hit the post.

Jobi McAnuff (7) - Orient’s best player looked cool, calm and composed on the ball, weaving through Blades defence and creating majority of home side’s chances.

Romain Vincelot (6) - Lively, winning challenges and battles but just didn’t have enough time on the ball or as many battles as Srient fans have grown to expect.

Lloyd James (6) - Some great crosses and balls from the central midfielder, but got carried away at times with too heavy crosses and some eager sliding challenges.

Michael Petrasso (6) - Very talented, lively youngster looks to have a lot of skill to offer during his loan spell. Lacked a finishing ball into the box, though.

Jay Simpson (7) - A good game, holding the ball well up top and linking brilliantly with McAnuff going forward, but lacked support from fellow striker.

David Mooney (5)- Disappointingly quiet night for last year’s leading scorer. Didn’t get too involved in the play, other than a few odd spells where he made some great flick-ons.

Substitutes

Bradley Pritchard (for Cuthbert, 13; 6)- Rushed into action in the 13th minute. Never gave up, winning challenges all over the pitch and blocking shots as well as linking up well on the right with McAnuff.

Darius Henderson (for Mooney, 69; 5) - Didn’t really shine off the bench. Didn’t control the ball or make enough movement to bring any threat of ever equalising.

Dean Cox (for Petrasso, 63; 6)- Didn’t get too involved, but brought some quicker passes and tempo on the wing. Given more time he might have provided Orient with the momentum they needed.

Not used: Batt, Bartley, Dagnall, Grainger.
