Paramedics are currently at Mile End station trying to rescue a person hit by a train.

Hundreds of commuters are trying to make their way out of the station after trains had to be stalled after the incident happened just before noon.

The train power has been switched off while ambulance staff attend to the victim, according to Transport for London.

The victim was hit by a Westbound District Line train which is currently stalled, along with the Eastbound District Line which has also been affected by the power being cut off.

A TfL spokesman said: “The person is still alive and being seen to by ambulance staff. We are currently walking people off the train.”

The district line is suspended in both directions.
