THE parents of 18-year-old Isschan Nicholls, who was tragically knifed to death in Bow earlier this year, are bringing together talents from the worlds of music, fashion and dance to celebrate their son’s life this Saturday.
Isschan’s parents, Jennifer Williams and Brian Nicholls, have organised a show at the Theatre Royal Stratford East in Gerry Raffles Square to be hosted by MTV Base presenter Kat B to raise money for national charity Victim Support, with performances from the Ebony Steel Band and All Creative Talents among others and local acts including Nina Alexis.
The talented rapper from Poplar was stabbed following a fight at the junction of Lefevre Walk and Parnell Road on January 13 and died two days later in the Royal London Hospital.
More than 1500 people joined a Facebook page paying tribute to Isschan, who would have celebrated his 19th birthday tomorrow (October 13).
Mum Jennifer, 42, said: “We always knew that we wanted to do something special for him and we thought this would be the right time.
“If he was alive, this would be his type of thing.
“We also want to do it in memory of all those who have been victims of knife crime.
“We will all be holding our breaths hoping that everything goes okay and also that people take home the message which we are trying to get across.”
There will also be a fashion show from S Child Couture.
Tickets for the Families Against Crime Together show cost £12 (£10 for concessions) from 020 8534 0310.
