Passengers flee to safety as bus catches light

BUS passengers were evacuated when fire broke out on a London double-decker in East London early this morning (Friday). The driver managed to bring the 115 bus to a halt when he spotted flames on board while heading into the City along Whitechapel High Street at 645am

BUS passengers were evacuated when fire broke out on a London double-decker in East London early this morning (Friday).

The driver managed to bring the 115 bus to a halt when he spotted flames on board while heading into the City along Whitechapel High Street at 645am. He got all the passengers off safely before calling the fire brigade.

Emergency crews arrived within minutes from nearby Whitechapel fire station and brought the blaze under control. No passenger was hurt.
