Poplar DLR station is launching an ‘Adopt a Station’ programme designed to allow passengers to personalise their nearest station.
The trial is part of mayor of London’s draft transport strategy, which aims to encourage the use of public transport.
Space at the station will be given over to help publicise community event, classes and workshops.
It will also provide a platform for schools and groups to showcase art and it is hoped the scheme will make travelling through the station a more pleasant experience.
DLR boss Mark Davis said: “We are delighted to bring our Adopt a Station programme to Poplar DLR. Nestled in the shadow of Canary Wharf, the scheme will enable the area to create a social and engaging hub at the heart of the community.
